Forgotten Fire Brewing Company - Est. 2016

Forgotten Fire Brewing Company is owned by Lindsay and Joe Callow. The Callows also own Forgotten Fire Winery in Marinette and Falling Waters Winery in Crivitz. 

We are starting out our brewing operation as a partnership with Point Brewery in Stevens Point.  Our future plans (hopefully, if laws allow) include a brewery and taproom onsite at our current Forgotten Fire Winery location in Marinette, WI. 

Here's a little bit about our start....
The Callows opened Forgotten Fire Winery on October 1, 2011. A visit to Rose Valley Winery in Michigan led to a fateful meeting with winemaker, Adam Kolodziejski. Adam expressed how his passion had led him to starting a winery, and how easy it would be for the Callows to do the same. Joe and Lindsay quickly found themselves believing that Adam had too much to drink that day. Nonetheless, after a few years of research, license applications, winemaking internships, and tears, Forgotten Fire Winery was born. Named in honor of the Great Peshtigo Fire of 1871, the winery sits on land located in the town of Peshtigo, though the actual address is in Marinette.
Lindsay, a native of Waukesha, WI, grew up in an Italian family where wine was always a part of family dinners. Lindsay has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing from UW-Whitewater. Her years of experience in marketing and promotions make her the backbone of all the winery events and promotion. Joe may not admit it, but Lindsay has the superior palate and tends to be the final say on all the wines and hard ciders.
Joe is a native of Menominee, MI. As a young man, no one trusted him to prepare a dish for family get-togethers. Instead, he was set with the task of finding the wine. Joe took this very seriously, learning about food and wine pairing, oh and he did a lot of sampling. Joe is a graduate of UW-Green Bay receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Medicine. After wasting most of his career in radio, he is finally using that biology and chemistry for something worthwhile. Because Lindsay isn't a beer drinker (long story), Joe has the final say on all the beer.
In January 2014, Joe was named as President of the Wisconsin Winery Association for 2014 and 2015.

Jake Wagner, Production Manager/Winemaker, grew up in Porterfield and went to high school in Marinette. His interest in winemaking sparked a few years out of school where he tried home winemaking for the first time yielding an unsuccessful attempt at strawberry wine. After doing 4 years in the Navy as a Gunners Mate, he got a job on a local construction crew. That crew was involved in the construction of Forgotten Fire Winery. His interest in winemaking sparked again, but with some help from Joe, he was successful in making a good batch of gewurztraminer. Jake lives in Marinette with his wife Kate and daughter Zoey.

Cory Jorgensen, Operations Manager, grew up and attended school in Peshtigo, WI. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from UW-Green Bay and is currently in the pursuit of his Educator’s License. He can be found substitute teaching at the local school districts or off exploring in the forests. This homegrown talent is the self-declared Forgotten Finery Winery Trivia Champion and he also enjoys reading, playing sports, and working out.

Katie Brandon, Events Coordinator/Brand Representative, was born a Yooper, but raised a Wisconsinite. She grew up in Porterfield with her 3 siblings and loving parents. She graduated from Marinette High School and then tried the college scene. She worked and went to school while raising her oldest and after her second child was born, she became a stay at home mom. She was introduced to Forgotten Fire Winery by her brother and hasn't left! Katie loves sports! Her favorite teams are, of course, the Green Bay Packers, the Brewers, the Badgers and the Detroit Red Wings. She loves music, a good book with a glass of wine, and spending time with her two boys.

Jessy Jozwiak, Tasting Room Team Leader/Brand Representative, was adopted when she was three years old and grew up in Menominee, MI. She got her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at UW-Green Bay. She makes jewelry, paints, and draws. She loves to sing, dance, and play sports.
Katie Moore, Brand Representative, grew up in Menominee, MI and graduated from Menominee High School. She has an Associate’s degree with an emphasis in Women's Studies from UW-Marinette and is currently working towards her Bachelor's degree in Non-profit Management from UW-Green Bay. When Katie isn't slinging wine, she spends her time with her son and daughter cheering on the Brewers, going on bike rides and traveling. She hopes to one day start a non-profit organization that instills confidence, independence and self-respect in young girls and women.

Kate Cormia, Brand Representative, graduated from Menominee High School. She went to Northern Michigan University and graduated in May, 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She was fortunate enough to land a teaching position right out of college in her home town of Menominee. She teaches second grade at Central Elementary and her students keep her very busy, but in her free time, she loves to spend it outdoors with family and friends. 
Bruce Furst, Brand Representative, was born and raised in the Marinette/Menominee area, and currently lives in the Town of Porterfield with his wife, Stacey. He spent 8 years in the US Air Force and his last position was to provide communications support to the President of the United States. After the Air Force, he spent two years with the Wisconsin State Patrol, and eventually found his way home, joining the Marinette Police Department in 1993. He remained there until he retired in 2016. He started brewing beer at home almost 20 years ago. He enjoys traveling with his wife, fishing, hunting, and camping.
Michelle Gifford, Brand Representative, was born and raised in Marinette. After graduating from NWTC with an Associate's degree in Accounting, she moved to Green Bay in search of a career. A few years later, an opportunity arose to move to California with her husband. Little did she know that the six years spent in California would totally reshape her life. Currently, Michelle is enrolled in the VESTA program at NWTC pursuing a career in the wine industry. In her free time, she enjoys time with her husband and daughter, including campfires with friends, walks in the woods, and of course, drinking wine.
We round out our team with our on-call Brand Representatives: Melissa Dura, Madelen Johnson, Jessica Kasten, Lauren Kasten, Sarah LaValliere, Mick Scheuer and Kate Wagner. 
Forgotten Fire Winery began with just 5 acres of land, 4 white wines, 3 red wines and the dreams of one headstrong couple. In 2012, 14 adjacent acres were purchased for future growth of the business. In 2013, the winery expanded to reach around 9000 square feet of space. Forgotten Fire Winery currently offers over 25 wines and a variety of wine-related gift items in the tasting room. 
Falling Waters Winery opened its doors in 2014 and offers a distinct variety of wines.
In 2015, the Callows also introduced a private label brand of premium olive oils, balsamic vinegars and gourmet offerings: Thunder Mountain Oil House & Specialty Foods.
And Forgotten Fire Brewing Company launched in January 2016 and the first beers will be available to the public in March 2016. Give us a try and extinguish your thirst!
